Why Water-Based Coating, Not PE or PLA
Most cold paper cups on the market use PE (polyethylene) coating or PLA (polylactic acid) lining to make them moisture and condensation resistant. Both contain plastic. Both release microplastics. Both are increasingly restricted under EU packaging regulations.

A lid-free cold paper cup, also called an integrated lid cold cup or foldable cold cup, is a takeaway beverage cup where the closure mechanism is built directly into the cup wall. The cup includes a built-in straw opening for drinking. No separate plastic dome lid is needed at any stage of service.
