PLA (polylactic acid) is a bio-based polymer that can replace conventional plastics in many cold food, retail and packaging applications. Ekoroll supplies PLA bags and films, PLA cold cups and containers, PLA-lined paper and CPLA lids and cutlery.

PLA is designed for industrial composting. Compostable certification is confirmed for the specific grade and final product, and depends on local collection.

What is PLA packaging?
PLA (polylactic acid) is a bio-based polymer used for bags, films, clear cups and containers. CPLA is a crystallised form with higher heat resistance, used for lids and cutlery.
Is PLA suitable for hot food?
Standard PLA is intended for cold and ambient use. For hot drinks and food, CPLA lids or water-based coated paper are the better choice.
Is PLA packaging compostable?
PLA is designed for industrial composting. Compostable certification is confirmed for the specific grade and final product.
PLA or water-based coating for paper cups?
Both avoid a PE lining. Water-based coating is our main barrier for paper cups and containers; PLA-lined paper is available on request.
How is pricing calculated?
We supply B2B only. Pricing depends on format, material, print, quantity and delivery terms and is quoted per project.
