One lid material, many containers

Molded fiber lids are formed from fiber pulp under heat and pressure into a rigid lid. Ekoroll supplies them for three kinds of container:

Paper cups: fiber lids sized to the cup rim, as an alternative to plastic cup lids. See also our paper cup lids and accessories.
Food containers: lids for bowls, soup cups and round or rectangular takeaway containers, including our bagasse bowls and lids and bagasse cups and soup cups.
Glass and ceramic containers: fiber lids for jars, ramekins and bowls used in retail, deli and food-to-go.

Fit comes first

A lid is only as good as its fit. We size each lid to the rim diameter and profile of the container it closes and confirm the fit with samples before production. For existing containers, a sample or rim drawing is enough to start.

The 80 and 90 mm cup lids fit standard paper cup rims; the full cup lid system, including self-opener and sip lids, is on paper cup lids. Other sizes and lids for your own containers can be developed with a dedicated mold.

Or no separate lid at all

For drinks without a separate lid, the Ekoroll lid-free hot cup and lid-free cold cup integrate the closure into the cup.

Performance and documentation

Fiber lids are used for hot and cold food and drinks. Oil and moisture resistance varies by product type. Food-contact and compostability documentation is provided according to the final product specification and production route.
