Packaging for Africa’s growing foodservice
Quick-service restaurants, delivery and hotel service are growing across Africa, and many markets are restricting single-use plastics: Kenya banned single-use plastic bags in 2017, Morocco in 2016, and Lagos State in Nigeria banned single-use plastics and polystyrene food containers in 2024. South Africa’s Extended Producer Responsibility regulations for packaging have applied since 2021.
