EU member states in the region follow the SUP Directive and, from 12 August 2026, the PPWR; for EU members, packaging moves under the EU–Türkiye Customs Union with an A.TR certificate. Poland’s 2023 implementation of the SUP Directive introduced mandatory fees on single-use plastic cups and food containers for consumers, which makes fiber-based alternatives more attractive.
