Paper cups and lids for German foodservice
Germany is one of Europe’s largest markets for takeaway coffee and bakery-to-go. Two national rules sit on top of the EU’s SUP Directive and PPWR: the Packaging Act (VerpackG), which since 1 January 2023 requires larger takeaway caterers to offer a reusable option, and the Single-Use Plastics Fund Act (EWKFondsG), which charges producers of single-use plastic products such as cups and food containers an annual levy.
Hot paper cups with lids, and without
Hot paper cups with lids remain the core of coffee service; with water-based, PFAS-free, PE-free barrier options the cup body carries far less plastic. The lid-free paper cup closes with its own folded rim and removes the separate plastic lid entirely.

How do you ship to Germany?
Orders ship from İzmir, Türkiye, by sea freight in containers or by road freight, depending on destination and volume. Trade terms (for example EXW, FOB, CIF or DAP) are agreed per shipment and stated in the quote.
How do the German rules affect single-use cups?
Since 1 January 2023 the Packaging Act (VerpackG) requires larger takeaway caterers to offer a reusable alternative for takeaway drinks and food in single-use plastic packaging, and the Single-Use Plastics Fund Act (EWKFondsG) charges producers of certain single-use plastic products, including cups and food containers, an annual levy. Fiber-based options with water-based, PE-free barriers reduce the plastic content of the packaging.
